Cantiklah Islam: Do WHATEVER you can for Syria!
Guys, here’s something fellow Malaysians and/or Muslims can do to help Syria:

ISLAMIC RELIEF MALAYSIA (IRM) LAUNCHES SYRIA EMERGENCY APPEAL (SEA)
(I just took an extract from the website. Visit the website for more info.)
“Islamic Relief’s Action
- Islamic Relief’s Humanitarian Department is closely monitoring the situation on the ground. In response to the increasing need of affected populations, a team led by IRW’s Head of Humanitarian, Moustafa Osman, will travel to Syria early next week to assess the situation in detail.
- Islamic Relief is working at the Jordan and Lebanon borders, through established offices in both countries and are providing emergency assistance to families that have fled to the borders. Islamic Relief Jordan and Islamic Relief Lebanon have been providing assistance to the Syrian refugees in their respective countries, through food and non-food items (NFI) distributions.
- Families are being provided with regular food packs, hygiene kits and assistance with accommodation.
a) RM200 can provide a family hygiene kit.
b) RM300 can provide a family food for a month.
c) RM700 can provide a family with temporary shelter.
- Syrian families escaping to Jordan are receiving emergency aid including the following:
a) Food packets, which include rice, sugar, oil, beans, cheese and salt
b) Hygiene products
c) Diapers and formula for babies
d) Kerosene and gas cylinders for heat”

See how you can help. Please, for one minute, imagine people running away (doing nothing, but running away!) and getting shot. Water, which is a daily need, is being poisoned. People trying to call you from all over the world, but you can’t be reached because the lines are down. You’re screaming and screaming, and yet no one can hear you. Children, women and the elderly are dying. Houses are being bombarded, innocent people are getting killed, food is running out, babies are crying and their cries are echoing all over the streets. Children are losing mothers and fathers today - they’re becoming orphans. People are hiding for their safety.
And what about us?
We’re just sitting here doing nothing, eating three times a day, going and coming back without worrying, able to pray, eat, sleep in peace. The same time you put a blanket over yourself at night, a gun shot is heard in Syria.
Please, please help. As Muslims.
In a hadith of an-Nu’man bin Basheer (ra) it is narrated that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said:
“The example of the believers in their mutual love, compassion and empathy is like that of a body. If one part of the body is hurt then the rest of the body calls out in sleeplessness and fever”
Please keep Syria in your du’as. Please pray hard for them, cry for them.

There are many facets to jihad, which is self-defense - and not senseless murder or terrorism - and this is one of them. Again, jihad is NOT terrorism, and it certainly isn’t the kind that you’re seeing on the news or in the papers. Please go read the Qur’an, I ask of you. :)

The Quran is the best advice you will ever get.
I actually opened the Qur’an to quell my fears and stop the excessive flow of sadness, and I found that and more. The verses are poised in such a way, every time you come and look back at them again, they still take you aback every single time. It’s like they have a new meaning … or a same meaning, only deeper … or perhaps you’ve just never looked it in that light before. But the advice given is so beautiful, so true, sometimes so subtle, sometimes so simple … it makes us ask questions about ourselves - and THAT is the beauty of the Qur’an.
“And whatever thing you [people] have been given - it is [only for] the enjoyment of worldly life and its adornment. And what is with Allah is better and more lasting; so will you not use reason?” (Qur’an, 28:60)
“And it is He who gives life and causes death, and His is the alternation of the night and the day. Then will you not reason?” (Qur’an, 23:80)
“And in yourselves. Then will you not see?” (Qur’an, 51:21)
Change can only happen once we question ourselves and our actions.
“For each one are successive [angels] before and behind him who protect him by the decree of Allah . Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when Allah intends for a people ill, there is no repelling it. And there is not for them besides Him any patron.” (Qur’an, 13:11)
Whatever it is, the Qur’an is the best advice for this world, and whatever comes next.

Simply Hasanah: When you spend so much time with people who remind you of this world,...
When you spend so much time with people who remind you of this world, you tend to develop worldly characteristics; materialistic, selfish, greed, ungratefulness and the like. The more you talk about these worldly things with them, the more you lose your real, spiritual self. Being surrounded with these luxuries, you keep getting greedy and greedy. It’s a never ending story because your wants and desires could never ever be satisfied.
Today, I went to meet a lot of people who remind me of the next world. MashaAllah… They may be poor, they may be ‘uneducated’ unlike most of us but they are truly rich in their soul. They may be perceived by the society as poor, yet they have the richest characters than most of these worldly people that I know of. SubhanAllah.. They are the most grateful people I’ve ever known even though they only have so little. Those who aren’t grateful are always those who have this so-called wealthy life. Indeed, I am really thankful to meet each and every one of these rich (in soul) people. May Allah SWT continue to bless them in this world until the next, may He SWT grant them Jannah, Ameen ya rabbal ‘alameen.
… Yeah. That’s true.
